Hillbilly Savants / Maybe the coolest thing I've ever been a part of - a collective effort to blog about the history, art, politics, and culture of Appalachia from the perspective of the Appalachian Renaissance. From 2006 to 2011 this project educated the masses - more than 400,000 visitors last time I checked. My thanks to everyone involved, especially the other editors, my friends Vaughn W. Garland and Mike Mason.
